Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg + 1 egg yolk
- 2 cups chocolate chips semi-sweet or milk
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts optional
Instructions:
Prepare the oven by heating it up to 325F 165C
Put parchment paper on baking sheets
Mix the flour, baking soda, and salt together in a medium-sized bowl using a whisk
Melt the butter and mix it with the brown sugar and granulated sugar in a large bowl
Mix everything together well
Mix the sugar and egg yolk together
Then add the vanilla extract
Mix until it's nice and smooth
Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones, mixing only until everything is combined
If you want to, use a spatula to mix in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts
Put the dough in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to cool it down
With a cookie scoop or spoon, make balls out of the dough and place them on the baking sheets that have been prepared
The cookies should be baked for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden and the middles are still soft
Take the cookies out of the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheets before moving them to wire racks to cool all the way
Have fun with your chocolate chip cookies, which are soft, chewy, and thick
